Maria Pistorio, LPC

Maria Pistorio began helping families in 2016 by being trained in the Philadelphia Initiative, a program to expand access to PCIT for families seeking services through community mental health. She is a Certified PCIT Therapist and Within-Agency trainer by PCIT International.

While training a team of doctoral interns in PCIT during the pandemic, Maria learned that I-PCIT, that is, PCIT delivered via Telehealth, not only worked as well as services delivered in the clinic, but also that there are distinct advantages of delivering the intervention this way.

• Maria is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania

• Maria is an out-of-state telehealth provider for the state of Florida

• Maria is a Level I (Within-Agency) Trainer

• Maria has graduated 100+ families with PCIT

• Maria is trained in CARE, Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement

• Maria was a supervisor in Intensive Family Coaching, IFC, an in- home delivery of PCIT for children with severe behaviors

• Maria has successfully helped families with children who suffer from effects of trauma and stress, anxiety, difficulties with emotional regulation, and children with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

• Maria has experience working with families with children from 18 months through 9 years old.
